Parking lots at General Sherman and Moro Rock typically fill by 10 AM during summer weekends. Utilize the free park shuttle from Lodgepole or the Giant Forest Museum to avoid searching for spots.

Generals Highway is extremely winding and narrow; driving times are often double what mileage suggests. Allow a full hour for the 16-mile stretch between the Foothills Visitor Center and the Giant Forest.
