Stays near the end of your drive
Lots at high-elevation trailheads often reach capacity early in the morning during summer months. Consider using the park shuttle system from lower transit hubs to avoid parking delays.
Cellular service is largely unavailable along the Going-to-the-Sun Road and in remote valleys like Many Glacier. Download navigation data and park maps before leaving gateway towns like Columbia Falls.
Gasoline is not sold within the park boundaries or along the main scenic drive. Ensure your tank is full in West Glacier or St. Mary before beginning the mountain crossing.
The central alpine section of the park typically opens in late June or early July depending on snowpack. Check the official road status page for real-time updates on plow progress.
