    • Lavender Pit

View the massive open-pit copper mine from the designated overlook on Highway 80.

Examine the Smithsonian-affiliated exhibits detailing the town's transition from a mining camp to a cultural hub.

    • Old Bisbee Heritage Stairs

Know before you go

Old Bisbee Congestion

Public parking is available at the large lot near the Queen Mine and the Iron Man statue. Avoid driving into narrow residential alleys where turnaround space is non-existent.

Mountain Terrain Coverage

Signal is stable in the town center but drops quickly in the surrounding canyons and on the road to Chiricahua. Download offline maps for any excursions outside city limits.

Southern Arizona Supply

Fuel is available in Bisbee and nearby Sierra Vista. Services are scarce when heading east toward the San Bernardino Valley or north toward the monument.

Elevation and Temperature

At over 5,000 feet, Bisbee is cooler than Phoenix, but midday sun is intense. Early morning starts are best for hiking the town's famous stairways.

Steep Grades and Stairs

Old Bisbee is built on steep hillsides; many historic hotels lack elevators. The mine tour involves riding a train and requires moderate mobility.
